Dot & Flo

I am getting some work ready to submit to the Cumbrian Open to be held at the Upfront Gallery near Penrith. I normally send landscapes up so this is a little different... I have also added this section of the oil bar painting to show just how luscious these paint sticks are...

Edinburgh Art Fair

"Out of Season"
I have just finished this painting of the view from the jetty at Arnside. This will be shown alongside a selection of recent work at the Edinburgh Art Fair. You can see them on Stand A6 where I will be represented by The Laurel Gallery.

Colour Therapy!

I would like to say a big thank you to all who attended my inks workshop on Saturday. Everyone seemed to really enjoy playing with the little pots of pure colour and there were many gasps of delight as the colours flowed next to and into one another.
By popular demand there will now be a further inks workshop for those who missed out and those who would just like to come back and have another play! The venue was perfect - the barn at Beetham's Heron Corn Mill was a lovely bright, warm and cosy space - so watch this space for the next date.
Here is the demonstration piece I did to set everyone off...

Juicy...

I have been invited to exhibit at Glasgow's Mussel Inn restaurant's gallery this Christmas and have decided to show some of the brusho ink paintings with a foody theme that I have been doing recently. Here is a plate of purple plums and a juicy tomato shown on a plate I bought in Habitat with an interesting feathery leaf design on it. Using the quink ink and brusho together with bleach makes for a fascinating journey into colour and design.
